Don Crum
Owner and President of the company, Don has a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Design from the Ohio State University and almost 30 years of industry experience. Don specializes in naturalistic landscape designs, including ponds, streams, patios and walks. Just to name a few, the two display ponds here at the Nursery are great examples of his work. Other examples of his landscape designs can be seen all over Stark County, call to us to set up your appointment with Don today! Don is also an Ohio Certified Nursery Technician in the Garden Center, awarded by the Ohio Nursery and Landscaping Association. Ask for his help with your most difficult Gardening questions and problem areas in your landscape.
Randy Kiefer
Our Landscaping Crew Foreman and Brick Work Expert, Randy has installed thousands of plants, patios and walls in his 30 years with us. His craftsmanship can be seen in the many examples of patios and walkways not only all over the Canton area, but everywhere you turn here at the Nursery. When Randy comes out to install your lanscape design, you can be certain he will make sure every leaf and every stone is placed perfectly! George Cindric
If you are looking for a lush, green lawn free of weeds, George is the guy! With over 20 years of experience in installing plants and caring for lawns, our Mowing Crew Foreman and Landscape Installation Expert knows how to keep your plants looking great from Spring through Fall. He knows all the best tricks of the trade to wow your neighbors and which fertilizer products will work best for your lawn and landscape. We would be happy to give you an estimate for mowing and lawn fertilization so that you too can own the gorgeous lawn of your dreams, ala George!
Courtney Perrott
Retail Operations Manager since 2004, Courtney started here at the Garden Center in late 1998 while enrolled in the local High School Horticulture program. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Botany from Kent State University in 2004, she has since taken on many new responsibililies including Container Garden Designer, Bookeeeper, Rose caretaker and Director of Seasonal Decor. Let her design you a beautiful display of live containers or stunning seasonal decor for your front door! Also an Ohio Certified Nursery Technician in the Garden Center, Courtney specializes in organic gardening techniques, pest identification and Integrated Pest Management.
Rachel Stevens
Assistant Sales Manager since 2009, and Head of the Perennial Plant Department, Rachel has been a with us for 6 years. Since the summer of 2004, she has been caring for our perennials and herbs. With her passion for organic gardening and medicinal herbs, she can recommend some great techniques. Rachel is also a fellow Ohio Certified Nursery Technician in the Garden Center, so she's full of great advice!
Missy Casper
Joining us for a second season, Missy is part of our Customer Service Associate team in the Gift Shop. Always a positive attitude and an extremely professional approach are what you'll be greeted with when Missy greets you in our Gift Shop. She's learned quite a bit about plants over the past year and would be happy to help point you in the right direction. Stop in and say hello this season!
Cathy Owens
Joining us for a second Spring in the Annuals department, Cathy can be found tending to the Geraniums and hanging baskets in our Greenhouse! With a great enthusiasm for Customer Service, Cathy makes you feel right at home! Stop in and let her help you create beautiful annual containers this season, we know you'll be pleased with the results!
Courtney Crawford
Yes, another Courtney! A second year student at Ohio State University's Agricultural Technology Institue, Courtney is studying plants, can you believe it! Also a former student of Jackson's Horticulture department, like our other Courtney, she is very comfortable around plants of all shapes and sizes! You can find her in the Perennial Plants department or helping out in the Gift Shop this summer.
Jay Huyghe
Joining our Nursery Customer Service team for the first time this spring, Jay is no stranger to the industry, having worked for Hillcrest Garden Center for several growing seasons. He's full of energy and extremely motivated to help out and learn all he can! You'll find Jay outside tending to our large trees and shrubs this season.
Kendra Dragomir
Also a newbie to the Garden Center, Kendra will be joining us part time this season and offering her superb organizational skills just about everywhere! She's a plant enthusiast with a thirst for knowledge, and an upbeat approach to each customer! Stop in and find Kendra in the Greenhouse or store this season!
Maddie Skemp
Congratulations to this busy Central Catholic High School Senior who just graduated and will be helping out a few hours each week here in the Garden Center this spring. Maddie can be found at the front desk or even outside helping maintain the flowers the season, but then it's off to college this Fall!
Catherine Zedell
Our newest addition to the store, this first year Kent State University student will be assisting customers in the Gift Shop this season, and with great attention to detail and an ability to learn fast, we know she'll be a huge help! After summer classes end, then it's off to school again this Fall!
